AMV contest
AMV contest is a go! For the prize I am pitching in a $50 gift card for Best Buy or more depending on what Shima-mom is willing to provide. Now, the $50 part is for sure that’s out of my pocket. so they are my rules and mine alone. Now for the judging, I have decided on this. We will rank them as follows. The Shimakon staff will filter through all the entries. We will then rate the AMV’s. on, video to music flow max points 25, then the timing max points is 25, originality 25 points, over all quality of video 25 that’s 100 points. Now the scale is 1 - 25 1 is poor to 25 being the best. Five extra points will be awarded by making the staff members cry, laugh, or burn with passion. This way we can break it down to the top 10. I will announce the top 10 on the forum, 20 days till Shimakon. Then, I will allow you (the fans) to decide who will be the winner at Shimakon. All entry’s will be shown, then we will announce the winner!
WHO, HOW, WILD, WHAT, and WHY
Who: Who is doing the voting? Five members of the staff will voting. 1st Shima-mom, 2nd press director, 3rd kon suite, 4th dealers director, and 5th your’s truly, the video director.
If there is a tie, we will go back and tally up the points that were awarded by the five members of staff. If there is a tie again, then we will look to our staff of operations. This person must decide by agreeing as to who is the winner. There can be only one.
How: The fans will vote, I know how it is going to be done. I won’t say. Why? Well that’s to make sure the vote is fair. All entries must be sent to me, either by mail or e mail then I will send you the reply to post it. Then, Shimakon staff will go to youtube and post your entry with the headline Shima-v-kon so everyone can see who is in the race
Wild: Wild cards can be entered. The 1st will be entered by the all the staff, if they don’t make the cut. The 2nd by you (the fans), this way it is fair.
What: What I don’t like to see, must be put to rest, and I will explain why.
This is the real killer. If you can’t help but do one of these AMV’s, do not recycle someone else’s work, or the same clips like so many people have done to main stream anime. Don’t believe me? Just search the titles and you’ll want to barf!
Why: I want to make sure that this is as fair a competition as possible. If you know me, that does not put you in the top ten. If you hate me, then that does not put you out. All that know me, know that I am a fair person. I like quality stuff, not something that is just thrown together, and hope for the best. Lets do this right! Oh and tag your product!
*Disclosure*
All entries made must be in before (to be announced) that is as late as it can be submitted. Only one entry per person! All AMV’s must be original. If you submit a AMV that was posted on another web site and you are found not to be the owner/creator, you can be held responsible for your actions by the creator/web owner. Shimakon will not accept this kind of video and it will be thrown out/disqualified. Video size does matter. I have to place the video on dvd for quality. Please keep the video to 640 x 360 at least.
